Analysis of Take One Page
Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)
Take just one page.
Just one.
From any book riddled with truth.
And dust off the cover.
Probably discovered under others.
Hidden to conceal,
The truth inside of it produced.
Now after some time to find that book,
Learn every word on that picked page.
Remembered to recite to quote.
To know one day,
Some who read on fiction to feed.
Will began a pointless argument,
About a reality they believe...
Either seen in the movies.
Or some comic depiction to see on TV.
'You can't tell me,
What I saw had nothing to do...
With reality.
I was flipping through this book.
And the same images in it,
First took me by surprised.
Then I realized with my eyes opened wide,
They changed the color of the heros.
To then attempted to make me believe,
They were not slaves slaves at all.
But actually had been kings and queens.'
'All of that is to market and sell,
Merchandise.
To keep everybody deluded.
And in denial as to what truth really is.'
'Whew.
That's a relief.
I almost believed what I saw was true.'
'Now...
I found this book I read.
Called 'How To Mess Up Minds,
And Profit From The Doing Of It'.
Probably written by the same people,
Who produced what you saw.
Either and the movies.
Or your TV screen.'
'I don't believe that.
Nobody would go out of their way,
Just to make a profit.
And attract people,
So unconscious as to what realty is.
For the purpose to mess up their minds.
And have them arguing over,
What is or what is not true.
That would be unpatriotic!'
'I know.
Who would ever do anything like that?
And besides,
That would be a betrayal...
To our quality and way of life.'
'True.
True!
Oh yeah...
About that book you were quoting from?
What treasonous nonconformist wrote it?'
'It doesn't matter.
Some nonsense based on ancient history.
Way before our reality.
And the truth of it created.
However...
There is this one page,
I will never forget.'
'What is the name of that book?'
'Something called, 'The Bible.
'The Bible?
What an odd and strange name.
