Analysis of THE BAD TIMES

The bad times are a’comin’
The good times have gone away,
Annie Fanny and Fanny Craddock
Have taken all that we had saved.

Needs must when the Devil drives
And he’s in the driver’s seat,
He’s helping feather Annie’s nest
To make it fair replete.

Yes the Devil is surely driving now
And running poor folk down,
To help our Annie stay on top
Corruption fair abounds.

Times are growing hard now
The skies are growing dark,
Society is running down
Parliament is run by sharks.

We’re starving at this end of town
While Annie’s living high,
For all the government could care
Every one of us could die.

But Annie’s doin’ fine now
She’s got her sweet largesse,
Millions starving in the streets
Have feathered Annie’s nest.

Yes Annie’s got her gun out
To shoot down all our dreams,
We scrimped and saved for what?
For nought, or so it seems.

Governmental largesse
Is taken from the poor,
‘Cause Annie’s got her hand out
And pollies can be bought.

George set up the awful scene
So Barack would fail the test,
And give away our rightful cache
To feather Annie’s nest.

For Annie’s bought and paid for
What she’s being given now,
We crawl along the pavement
While she lives among the clouds.

It’s not her fault we have to starve
O’er at the wrong side of town,
For Annie Fanny and Fanny Craddock
The walls came tumbling down.

The walls of fair society which
Once gave everyone some rights,
‘Cause Annie’s got her gun out
An’ she’s spoilin’ for a fight.

The poor and hungry have to pay
So Annie can live on high,
We grovel lowly in the dirt
While she’s up there in the sky.

But Annie’s too busy to worry
About all of the starving folk,
She’s got her largesse from the state
While most of us are broke.

So Annie goes on living it up
While we struggle just to get by,
Her fortune is a done deal
So, the rest of us can die.

THE END
