Analysis of Where Am I?

Where am I in this life of confusion and misunderstandings?
Where is the clarity of purpose, the Golden Path, the vision?
Where is the love of my life that stands in the shadows of the future?

Why do I not see what lies before me?
Is this the joke of the Cosmos, to be blind and deaf to my surroundings?
On the other hand, am I not supposed to be here, on this planet?
In this time when I feel so disharmonious, so out of place?

Why can I not tap into the Greater Forces as I have in lifetimes before?
Is this my test, to see if I can find my way?
Without a match to light, so I may see what lies ahead.

Then I must follow my heart and instincts and try
Not to shake my fists at the sky and scream to the gods...
WHERE AM I?

Carla J Suggs

Masters in English/Creative Writing Currently writing several tales, one of which is the beginning of a science fiction series. I also write YA, romance, and fantasy; not necessarily in that order. I used to be an active poet on the old site. Luckily, I saved my poetry before the site tanked. I'm going to assume that all records of awards, publishing, and mentions are gone as well? A pity. more…
