Analysis of One Heartbeat

Lene' Mumaugh 1961 (Billings, Montana)

Ripples flow from the tiny pebble
Dropped carelessly into the lake
A symphonic rhythm of constant motion
Peace in its wake

A single beat of love
Flows in a circle 'round the pebble
In each and every one of us
Jesus in the midst of the tremble

We are of one heartbeat
Full of love for each other
To encourage, to nurture and strengthen
A friend, a neighbor, a sister and our brother.
