Analysis of Cry of the newborn
GIDRAF MWANGI 1992 (Murang'a)
I am a newborn and I don’t like it
That is why I really must cry!
I have just been smacked hard
Though I have wronged no one
I have been yanked from peace
To a violence of noise and color
I have been forced to breathe
The impure elements polluted
I have been awakened to hunger
Though not enabled to fend
I have been held helplessly
Teetering on rough hands defenselessly
I have, most importantly, been interrupted
Thoughts most divine cut away surgically
Immersing me into the mental haze of a toddler!!!
