Rotten Lies

lies
spread like wildfire,
through the cracks
of truth they seep,
twisting,
distorting,
manipulating,
until they become
the fabric of reality.
they fester
and grow,

I am

I am
a human being,
and I am doomed

they dine upon
our love,
a tender steak,
often rare,
our hope,
a rib,
its meaty flavor
sweet.

I wanted the poem to be short and sweet. Essentially, so many conversations simply have no meaning. People talk and talk but they talk about nothing. Thank you for your comment and advice
