Darkening, we walk -
Over unforgiving rocks -
Across the alpine.

You trudge on ahead,
While I stumble behind
Unafraid; as I,

Every once in a while,
See a firefly
Turn and shed its light
To check on me,
And I, in happy fatigue,
Nod.
