Enemies with No Faces

I can’t see them but they see me.
I cannot hide, my skin glows bright.
The brown.
The melanin.
My roots.
All eyes are on me.
Their ears are perked.
They wonder of the vibrato in my voice.
No hands in my pocket.
That rule is first.
Eyes front.
