PoetrySoup member. Have 2 poems published in two anthology series. Been writing since high school off/on, with periods of feast and famine. Use different formats of late. Retired from teaching in '18 and working on a book/chapbook of selected works. We need a Poetry/Literary Renaissance like the Beat movement of the past. Poetry has become stale, stagnant and self serving. Uplifting, abstract and high imagery to make the masses think and swoon at our thoughts and words. Invigorate them to express themselves in a holistic manner. Not drivel driven verses. Yeah, that's my opinion. Thanks.

Thinking of you
everything you say
how we feel

at ease

Sounds of still waters
under a forgiving sphere
baptize me empty

Protective custody

Aquamarine waves
lap pristine rugged shorelines
casting call for beat
bohemic coral ballets
hip sandy beach applause
