PoetrySoup member. Have 5 poems published in three anthology series. Been writing since high school off/on, with periods of feast and famine. Use different formats of late. Retired from teaching in '18 and working on a book/chapbook of selected works. We need a Poetry/Literary Renaissance similar to the Beat movement of the past. Poetry has become stale, stagnant and self-serving. Uplifting, abstract and high imagery to make the masses think and swoon at our thoughts and words. Invigorate them to express themselves in a holistic manner. Not drivel driven verses of self importance. Thanks.
