I Might Remember You.

Don't stand in my way
hear what I say
do I judge you
on your appearance?
Because I've fallen
on hard times
I know my trade
inside out
I need a job
not a critical eye.
I might remember you one day
when I am
flying...

NOT IMPORTANT

Who in the background
tirelessly reaches out
offering whatever they can
to an outstretched hand.
Who are the silent ones
helping to feed
the homeless
the displaced children
the refugee.
Most are nameless
not important by choice
yet...

As Old As You Feel.

Ageless is time
time and time again
like an unseen hand
pointing ahead
looking behind,
reminding you to push ahead
ignore wild nostalgia
wishing you were
a little younger.
For god's sake man
look straight ahead
ignore the whispering
from...

I AM NOT SURE?

For a moment I paused
unsure what to do
like forgetting your passwords
when behind someone fidgets
impatient with you.
Maybe I should have said
I will be quite a while
I filling in my tax returns
come back in half an hour.
Sometimes humour...

Call Me Annon

I do not seek
identity
with other men.
I am
who I am
me
not just anyone.
I do not need
bespoke works
signed by bespoke artists
another Banksy
been there done that
painted many walls.
I am me
who I want to be
just a human
a dot in...

JIGSAW

You live your life
like a jigsaw,
millions of fragments
scattered all about,
small misshapen moments
fill your life.
There is a smile
you as a child,
sometimes small pieces
will create a tear
your jigsaw is spread out everywhere.
Yet...

DIGGING MYSELF IN A HOLE

How was I to know
such a small task
like digging a hole
could be a nightmare
too behold,
that you could drift
could let yourself get carried away
you see it went so well
I dug all night into the next day,
created a marvellous hole
a whole...

INTRUDER ALERT

I was caught
mid-thought
about to write
some nonsense was falling out of my head.
Caught by a noise
unsure what it was
I sat still
listened intent.
Amid the silence
that noise was clear
an intruder was lurking somewhere within,
I dare not...

BEFORE THE MIRROR CRACKED

There was a time that I recall
it was there
hung in the hall,
a huge ornate
Oak frame mirror
that had a dusty look
embedded in the glass,
Kind of made it smokey
removed the blemishes
of your skin
quite an odd reflection.
Almost detached...

The Sounds Between the Silence

Does silence exist
amid those exposed moments
where you are led to believe
nothing exists
just utter silence.
I doubt it is true
for what is sound
but a frequency that vibrates
so does this planet
have a veritable hum
what an orchestra the Milky Way...

Before the Sun Rises

Why do I wake
before the Sun rises
feel so tired
yet restless inside
unable to close my eyes
sleep through the night.
Sometimes it is
like a game I am sure
my mind playing tricks
rattling my cage
waking me up
'Come on you fool
to get up.'
Yet...

Despite

I question my intention
more often
than agree,
despite all the platforms
those choices
that maybe.
My thoughts stray
meander which way
I look at the destinations
then reluctantly
I turn away.
Despite my options
despite my urge to run
this is me
a...
