Thought-provoking. Everyone wants a crack-down on the multinational corporations and their astonishing hubris. Let Pfizer and Bayer pay for what they've done! Public floggings for the CEO wouldn't come amiss, either! Of course the poor factory workers are likely to suffer more than the Albert Bourlas and Werner Baumans people really want to make pay...

Twin griefs is a vivid image of why a child's death hurts more than an adult's.

Joel Osteen used to preach more than "prosperity gospel"--has he slipped down? (I have to admit I've never read or heard Creflo Dollar.) I feel sorry for those called to preach. It's hard to know what people are able to receive!

Oh to be young enough to love NYC again! I did, for one day out of one week I spent there. DC was my city and there's no doing anything about it. But thank you for reminding me of that feeling.

And they don't even want to debate about the meaning of the word "apostazein." The sad thing is that people don't want to think about God--Lewis said, the way people who can't stick to a budget don't want to think about their bank accounts.

It's all in finding the right secondhand stores! By finding the ones where the high-end stores donate their unsold merchandise every month or two, she can wear the latest and some of the priciest looks on a student labor budget. I hope she lives near some of that kind!

I don't find "all caps" scary, but it is an old Internet tradition that typing in all caps means yelling angrily. (I tend to assume people aren't aware of this.)
