My name is Thato Gumede, 18 years old. I was born and raised in Gauteng. I fell in love with poetry in 3rd grade and by 4th grade I had written my first poem, looking back it wasn't that good but for a kid that young it was really mature beyond that age. My poems are mostly emotion based mainly because when I was young I never felt like I had a voice or a safe environment where I could express my feelings and emotion and when all those feelings locked inside came rushing back, poetry was the only way I knew how to communicate. I learnt that negative emotion can be turned into a masterpiece.
