My name is Thabo Mqalu and I am 19 years old. I consider myself a spoken word poet. I started writing poetry in 2018, because there was just a lot that I was dealing with and I just needed a coping mechanism. I continue to fall deeper in love with poetry with every poem I write. I am originally from Fort Beaufort in the Eastern Cape but I am currently studying Actuarial Science at the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg. My schedule is really tight at the moment due to the workload but I do try to write once in a while.
