Matthew Pollock

Matthew is an Australian writer who has lived abroad in the Philippines for the last decade. Born in the coastal town of Geelong, south of Melbourne, he grew up in a good family, with Christian parents and one older sister. During his travels to almost 20 counties he draws on his experiences to write poetry based on emotion and original thought. Initially as a coping mechanism for anxiety and depression two years ago, poetry and writing is now his passion. His goal is share a little of what he has learnt, in the hope one day, it can help others. His poems originally came from a very dark place in his life where nothing really mattered. This lead to his first poetry book on Amazon called “Poems and Ramblings - A foreigner abroad”. This book was written suicidal, drunk and entirely unedited. Since then life has certainly improved. Matthew now writes across a range of topics including life, love and being a father with the occasional dark or deeply descriptive poem added in. He spends a lot of time helping others with anxiety and depression and doing some charity work. Happily engaged, a second chance. Making the most of the blessing that is life.
