Lora Jane Simpson was born in Portsmouth, Ohio. At age 5, she endured her first traumatic experience. As an adult she found herself in an abusive relationship. Angry and frustrated with the injustice system, she decided to use her pain for purpose. She started "Love Doesn't Hurt: Victim's Advocacy Team, a NPO to help victims escape. She spends her time educating the general population about domestic violence. She is currently working for changes in the laws that, in her words, "Hold women hostage to the abuse." Aside from her committment to end the silence, she is a mother, aunt, sister and nana. She works as a Nurse, counselor, and victim's advocate having received multiple degrees in her pursuit to help others. She is dedicated to sharing hope and help for those that are hurting. And she credits her success to her loving, supportive family and to God that has taught her that even your pain has purpose.
