I began writing simply to heal and express myself in a place I felt comfortable. I study sociology and criminology, and often times through this I am reminded of the constant battles and limitations of each socio-economic time period and ones that continue. It hurts to be human and although my poem seems aggressive and negative, I see changes in society that I hope my son can better as he becomes a man.
