My names Cameron Jimenez. I was born and raised in Miami FL., the middle child of my mom’s three kids. After graduating, I relocated to Atlanta an obtained a technical certificate in Fashion Design from Stratford Career Institute and started my fashion journey as a Visual Merchandiser for Levi’s. During this time, I participated in many open mics and poetry slams to advance my poetic skills. Fast forward to 2011, I published my first book of poetry “My Story: An Anthology of Poetry”. In 2013 my poem “Raped” received National Attention and was featured in the online publication Spilt Ink Poetry and 2014 I was chosen to co-write the chapbook “SoulCry with Spilt Ink Poetry’s Founder Charles Banks. In 2015 I released my second book There’s a War Inside Me”. In 2018, I relocated to Washington DC, and everything blew up from there. It was here that I re-released my second book with 3 additional poems. 2018 both books became available on all platforms including eBay, Barnes and Noble, Books-a-Million, Amazon and Walmart, the infamous DC restaurant Busboys and Poets locations and on Kindle. Also, in 2018 I enrolled at the University of the District of Columbia and graduated two semesters later with an A.A. in Fashion Merchandising. That same year I was chosen to headline the Sensoria Tour in 2018 and 2019, which is a tour that combines all art forms to magnify important topics within our community and position it front and center forcing them to approach and face these situations that traumatizes our culture head on together. As a community. Through the arts. I went on to showcase BCBG Maxazria Fall/ Winter collection at the Purple Runway Fashion show for Domestic Abuse Awareness and modeled at the Springfield Town Center Breast Cancer Awareness Benefit. I am currently a stylist for a dancer with the Washington Wizards, enrolled at the Illustrious Bowie State University obtaining a BFA in Fashion Design and a minor in Creative Writing, as well as working on opening my modeling school “Runway” and completing my third book “Layers” which debuted 2021.
