I've been writing poetry and short stories since before I was twelve years old. My sixth grade teacher entered one of my poems into a contest and I actually won first place. Since then I have always known I had a talent for writing. Growing up in an abusive environment writing was always my way of escape; so not only do I have a talent for it, but it helps with my mental health.
