You saw that side of me

We laughed until we cried
You saw that side of me
You asked me if I’d try
To be who I could be

You held me by the hand
And kept your promise true
You said you’d be with me
And help me to come through

You saw deep lines of sadness
My soul being torn apart
You scattered seeds of kindness
All through my broken heart

And with tender words unspoken
You heal that side of me
And I became the person
You knew that I could be
