why

Abigail Anderson 2009 (tx)

Why

                   Why do we do anything?
Why do we wake up if we are just going to sleep
Why do we open up if we are just going to get hurt
Why do we like the darkness when we know it hurts
Why do we cry when no one can here
Why does it still hurt if it happened a long time ago
                         Why do I still cry
Why do I still hide my pain behind a smile
Why do I have to restrain myself when I see knifes
Why do I have to feel these feelings
Why can’t the past stay in the past
Why was I born if I was going to feel the way I feel
Why was I born a girl if I was going to be sexually assaulted by men
Why cant anyone be there selves without being weird
Why can I like the same-sex without being called out on the spot
Why can I be proud of what I look like without being called names
Why is it every time a woman or little girl gets raped it is never on the news
Why do I have to walk with a group of people when I go out to protect our selfs
Why do women and men have to worry about predators
Why do I have to worry about if I look suspicious when I am in the store
Why are so many people lives are endangered because of the color of their skin
Why do I live in this world with predators racist people and Karens
                                      why.
