My Loves

My loves
My loves
There have been 3 people I truly loved
My first, who made me not believe in love
The second who didn't feel the same
And the third..
Your first love is supposed to show you how to love
All mine showed me was how to apologize
How to claim fault even if it wasn't yours to claim
Because you don't have the energy to fight
Your first love should be where you figure out what love is
Mine taught me that just because they say the words…
Doesn't mean you should give in to what they are asking of you
My first love made me think love should hurt
My first love always convinced me to come back
My first love manipulated me
My second love
My second love is a perfect human
In my eyes
Beautiful
Kind
Caring
Always works to get what they want
They have no idea how in love with them i felt
They made me realize who i am
My second love taught me that love can be one sided
My third love..
My third love made me feel pain I thought was just for books and movies
A pain I thought was exaggerated
A pain I didn't think i could handle
My third love made me feel safe
They made me feel worth something
They brought me out of my darkest place
And right when my life seemed perfect
They left
With many forgotten promises
Plans that will never become reality
And the pain I thought could never be real.
My third love taught me what love should be
And how quickly it can become nothing.
