The Bullet

you shoot your gun at my chest
the bullet buries deep into me
I fall to my knees and cry out
the pain at first sizzles
yet the pain dissipates quick
a warm fuzzy feeling trickles in
my heart bursts into a flurry
a spell has been cast over me
a worrisome smile creeps over my face
a smile so bright you could go blind

my chest burns hot
heart skips a beat
intoxicated by your smell
sensitive to your taste
yearning for your touch
a hazy abyss

your chest is warm
your arms are safe
your lips are soft
the gun lies at your side
waiting for its next use
when I need your love the most
for I am simply in love
and I would gladly take
the bullet
