You Would Die in Her Arms

You tell her that you will die in her arms,
With a smile upon your face,
Knowing that you spent your life,
For your time together was not a waste.

You tell her that you love her,
And never anyone else,
That she would not be erased,
The reply she gives, with a smile on her face.

These are the things, with which I cannot stand,
Temper, anger, fits and rage,
The drama in your life,
That there are things you must change.

To keep this love in your life,
Although she claims you are her mate,
Without you changing she will find another date,
She will never become your wife.

The news hits hard, like an earthquake,
You body starts to shake,
For this is who I am,
She loves me, not for who stands here,
But for whom she needs me to be,
She does not love me,
Merely the perception of me.
