Worthless at Thirteen

Everything I do isn't good enough
Everything I like to do is a waste of time
Everything I wear is ugly
Everything I like to eat is junk
Everything I like to listen to is junk
Everything about me isn't good enough
I'm not smart enough I'm not polite enough
I'm not skinny enough I'm not creative enough
I'm not athletic enough I'm not clever enough
I'm not pretty enough I'm not talented enough
I'm not kind enough I'm not strong enough
In the eyes of my dad, I'm not anything enough
In the eyes of my dad,
I'm a follower
Everything i'm proud of isn't good enough for him
Now I know, to avoid hurt, I have to block him out of my life.
My self-esteem drops when he tries to give me advice
In the eyes of my dad,
I'm worthless.
