Witch Hunt

Black veils streak the sky
on a night without a moon.
Glowing amongst torch lit trees
in the flickering light,
madmen fed on fear and lies.
Burning their burdens on the wooden stake.
To rid the world not of evil,
but of their own jealous contempt
