When You Can Hear the Unspoken

When you can explain why the river runs
To the sea, and why the sea...to the shore;
When you can feel the incontrovertibility
Of your existence in the wind and see it
Make the leaves of the trees dance and fall;
When you can see beauty in a grain of sand,
Or blade of grass, or on a heap of trash;
When you can smell the aroma of a freshly
Brewed coffee, as you walk shivering on
A snowy-winter night away from home,
Then, you can believe before you see, not
See before you believe--that
God is everywhere--around, below, above
And beyond...all the time.
When you can hear the unspoken...
You can feel the Touch of God.
