What say you my friends

I am old and I am guile
My friends are young and still wild
I lost those who meant so much to me
From warfare and from the vastness sea
I have had much heartache as of late
I don't know how much more I can take
I have tried to give strength to others
But I fail to keep on my own covers
I am hurting from all my pains
Slowly its killing me once again
What do they really see in me
These questions of my duality
I have nothing more to give
And I have nothing of worth to take
So if they see me as a friend
Is that a mistake
So if they hate me what can I say
I would look for a better day
I know that my time is short
What have I good to report
