Walking Below

so with just the company of a shadow
I stand in the spirits realm formed ages ago
Wondering how the winds don`t blow
Listening as the voices grow
The spirits I have come to know
Here like angels they will show
To keep me company while I walk below
Yet only my shadow is real
as much as the voices appeal
Their just dreams so surreal
So I follow a crow`s blood thirsty squeal
hoping his voice the spirits don`t steal
I wonder what he will reveal
As I follow at his heel
A path I soon begin to feel
It leads me to quite the ordeal
the people just walking into the water so genteel
I cringe away from the path the others take
watching the bodies compile in that lake
carefully staying awake
as their bodies slither like mounds of snake
watching makes my heart ache
knowing they will not wake
So I turn away from that well
where the lost spirits dwell
unable to take the smell
farther down the road I compell
hoping I will find my way away from this hell
