Unforgivable Betrayal

Inner self, dripping from one's soul slowly like syrup from the
Maple tree
Draining the sweetness for another's benefit, leaving only hollow
Places never to be refilled.

Such a slow, painful death all too often unrecognized by the
Harvester, until the withering appears.

Oh, to become that taker of life, caring not of another's lifeblood
Except to leach it away in the slimy suction of self-need.

The realization of betrayal is the dart drenched in a poison of
Hatred.

And then the sudden death caused by your dearest loved one
A relationship lost, the sweetness gone never to return.
