undone

Undone the day to come

I know it all too well

My simple words from meaning often shunned

And future is misspelled

The hope I conjured late at night

Lacks syllabus or rhyme

And all too willingly my plight

Surrendered to its bite

With stretched out arm to feel my way

I walk across the hall

I should not stumble would not sway

But could never reach the wall

Illusion of an empty space

Kept little hope alive

The darkness's hiden any trace

Of a day that came undone

Alina Frenkel

English is not my first language nevertheless this is my language now and I always felt compelled to write not for the sake of calling it poetry or prose but for no particular reason :-) more…
