they say



they say you are lost when you don't conform to what they find acceptable,

they say you are running from the truth when you step outside their comfortable frames of reference.

What they say is a weight that drags you slowly under,

with violent tugs at family reunions.

You swim in tepid waters with your family,

or you drown alone.
