There She Was

There she was
Walking down
Fifth Avenue
Looking at all the shops
With all the pretty
Little things
All the faces that
Pass her by
Strangers that all
Seem so familiar
Windows to
A better life
Reminiscing and
Thinking of better times

And there she was
Just sitting there
On a park bench
In Central Park
Glancing at
Strangers as they
Walk on by
Asking for
Directions are
Something…she just won't do
She wears them' shades
So d*mn well
But she won't ever have
A soul to sell

Yeah there she was
Sitting there
On a swing
Just because
Swinging back and forth
Just for fun
Thinking about
Who knows what
But it seems like she's
Having a mighty fine time
And she's singing along
To a chorus
That echoes
For eternity
