The Valley

Timothy Lamar McKinley 1958 (Birmingham AL)

To the struggle

I stood on a hilltop and the Lord said, "see that mountain in the distance".

I answered "yes".

The Lord said go to that mountain.

I said, "Lord there is no bridge".
The Lord said "Cross".

Three times I ask the Lord "How can I get
To the mountain".

After many years, I looked and saw that I
Stood on that mountain.

Then the Lord asks me "how did I arrive"?

As I turned, I looked and behold deep down
In the valley lay the "Cross".
