The Tower
The cards turned on the table
Fate decreed
a house without foundations;
a love of lies...
In denial,I walked through the door
hanging on creaking hinges
and stayed,
longer than expected.
It did not take an earthquake
to render it to rubble.
In the settling dust
the image of the tower
hung in the air
with Babel's voice resounding.
A warning.
Heaven shall build a Hell of human presumption.
An open door; an invitation
that I will not be taking again.
