The Serene Life

Escalators part and slide as our feet trust the machines that guide us
Neon blue dulled by the dirt up lights your eye lashes like clam shell stages

Subtle thunder and the constant drone of metal interrupt the silence
Yet I’m optimistic in the quiet

Devious smiles as we select our fuels and energies
Arrhythmia shocked into focus by your lips

Jostle to our thrones, I feel like a king
The projected pictures and exaggerated sounds can't remove me from where I am
I’m with my queen in the true and serene land of life.
