The Pit
In the darkness, my loneliness grows;
like the pedals of your black rose.
The aroma of solitude, fills my nose;
and the growing of my hope slows.
Falling deep into the well of sorrow;
where the dawn of tomorrow, you borrow.
Deep within the pit where I wallow;
wishing only that you would follow.
Going so deeply, I think I'll drown;
wearing not a smile, but only a frown.
You hide and watch, as I'm going down;
knowing all along, I was your clown.
But in this darkness, I refuse to sit;
so alone, I start to climb out of this pit.
No one around to see my wild fit;
and once again my light is lit.
Only to fall down into despair;
holding back and choking the air.
This is the pain, I would like to share;
only with you, will I begin to care.
