The Nightwalker
In the forest of life and death,
lives a nightwalker.
Every night when the moon rises,
the nightwalker wakes.
The nightwalker walks slowly through
the trees, watching the forest sleep.
He helps the young ones get to their
burrows, so they may sleep soundly.
He watches many animals be hunted by
the night creatures, the forest trembles
with sorrow for the lost.
The moon is nigh, the nightwalker keeps
wandering, then he sees a creature one he
has never seen before.
This creature was a man, he walks the forest
floors slowly, ever so slowly, so the new creature doesnt see him.
The man sees him, the man shoots his gun.
The nightwalker does not budge,
for he can never die.
He walks closer to the man and asks,
"Why you in dis forest?"
The man answers, "to hunt a creature like no other."
"Who dis creature you are seeking?"
"Well you nightwalker, i need the money,
to help my family thrive."
"If you try killing me you will not succeed,
you see i can never die."
"Cant die, thats impossible." the man says in confusion.
"It is possible have you heard the stories of
this forest."
The nightwalker new that it was hard
to get stories about this forest.
Especially that everyone who tried
have died in here under circumstances.
The sun started to rise, "I am going to go into a deep sleep."
"By mystical spirit of the forest of life and death.
The next night when the moon rose the nightwalker
never woke again for he had been punished for
speaking with a creature not belonging to the forest
of life and death.
