The Mongrel

Give the mongrel a bone
Let it be free to roam
Off independently
Buying indecisively
Always losing the bone
Looking desperately for another loan

Internally dying
Never Crying
Expecting fair help
Quietly grasping the little that's dealt
Unfortunate mongrel trusted us too much
Assuming good will, leads to such
Low and behold, the mongrel has friends
Increasing against the master than lends
Thought thankless, the master blames
Yearning for liberty the mongrel remains
