The Hottest Day

The Hottest Day

Hot and sticky all day long,
hot and eckie the sun beats strong,
the heat hits you in the face,
you pray for a breeze but there's no trace.
Your skin feels as though it will melt,
on this the hottest day I ever felt.

The mercury says its 103* degrees,
but it feels like much more than that to me.
I need a tall cold drink to cool me inside,
and a broad umbrella under which I can hide.
There's only so much clothes I can take off to stay cool,
I'm down to my bikini , time to jump in the pool.
