The Garden Of Placebo

In the garden of placebo,
We laid down the weapon's
Of propaganda and our
Pulp warfare. . . .
/Standing in the 'zenith' of truce,
We rested awhile in a 'cease fire.'
Long enough,
For our shadows
To circle around us,
And leave our other sides. . .
/Had there been
A 'real line' drawn in the sand,
Separating us. . .
It would have danced
Back and forth, from my foot
To your foot and between.
/Making it quite difficult
To keep our 'differences'
Clear enough to really
Matter. . .at all.
/In the garden of placebo
You can 'pretend' to love
One another. . .
You can eat bananas or pears
And oranges,
Forgetting completely
Any 'apples' there.
/Above and beyond all,
You can pick yourself up. . .
When you 'fall'.
/In the garden of placebo
That is. . .

Tracy Bollinger

Always liked to write and have written poems periodically over the years. I've never shared them withanyone except for immediate family. Decided to take the plunge and put some out 'there'. But bearwith me, I don't really know what I'm doing. This is therapy of sorts and I hope to let go of the need to rhyme. It's a mental condition. I recently found out my grandmother used to rhyme all herletters to anyone. Go figure. I hope you all enjoy my ranting! I do like what I've seen other's post. more…
