the fall

Spread out in the air
Feathers glide behind me
Soaring without a care
Out of reach
Or so I thought
But life has cruel lessons
That it must teach
You charmed me down to Earth
With your enchanting blue eyes
I lept from grace
when I saw your face
I was done for
A beauty like none before
I  let your delicate fingers slide
Over my cold skin
That was suddenly warm
But of course you had to leave me
How I could not forsee
The outcome, I do not know
You were gone, six feet under
No longer did you sing
My pain it roared like thunder
My love, my love.
Gone you are
To Heaven I could not return
To Hell, I must never go
But what is a life worth living,
if not lived within your arms?
I fit being above your body
Wings in a protective stance
And I shall stand here for eternity
As you will rot in yours
