The Beauty Within

I heard your heartbeat today
And wondered who you were
The tears welling up inside
Caused my vision to blur
I couldn't believe how lucky I was
To have such a special thing
And to bask in the pleasures
The Lord would bring
Sure there would be heartache
And times when we would cry
But to raise you to be great
That we would try
Sure your dad and I are not married
And some may say it's a sin
But I'm just grateful
