Survival

In a perfect day, at a perfect time
With flowers and the wind blowing in my face
The storm may arrive at anytime
From an unknown destination to my place

The sky turn gray as my tears fall
I heard something reach the ground
And saw my baby girl crawl
Something strong is coming to this town

Mothers are already looking for a shelther
Everyone in town look mad and sad
So what happen to us staying together?
Where is the faith in our God?

Too strong, too powerful for thee
But let us overcome this fear
For I know us three
Will make it even in fear

Mel Ariste

Born and raised in Haiti, I started writing at the age of eight. I guess you could say I always had a passion for writing, I also love to read, but writing was always something special to me. It's a passion, a way to get my emotions out without any frustration. It always made me feel better and relief. I do write in French, Creole and English. And some day, hopefully I will publish my own book. more…
