Sunrise

Breathing.
Deeply.
Satiating my senses with
The feel.
The scent.
The taste of the air.
Cool and moist.
Pure and earthy.
Like dew on the quiet blades of spring grass.
The fading moments of Night.

The sun.
Slowly it rises.
And as it emerges from the mountains' shadows,
I feel Morning's first light kiss my ivory cheek.
Gently.
I open my eyes to the world.
To reality.
And moment by each invigorating moment,
I silence the soothing voices calling me back
To the comfort and simplicity of my faithful dreams.

And though still adjusting to the light,
I am finally able to see.
See the world.
The tangible world outside of my mind.
To see life.
Life that is the birds soaring through the peaceful breeze.
I am finally able to see beauty.
True beauty.
The many colors of the Morning scene.
Shades of pink, and red, and orange.
Fire erupting throughout the sky.
And within my heart.

My very being.
Alive with fascination.
Adoration and wonder.
Passion pulsing through my every vein.
Unwilling to
Blink.
To move.
To glance away.
Paralyzed.
I simply.
Breathe.
