STOP the BLOODSHED

Babies killing babies
Everyone's at war
Bullets are a-flying
Zinging past my door

Children dying daily
No one knows just why
Meanwhile another mother
Is forced to cry and cry

Stop the bloodshed, Stop the bloodshed

Instead of education
To rest, a new one's laid
Forget about the schoolin'
Time to learn first aid

They're crying for a future
Some feel they'll never see
As another bullet ends the life
Of a child who should be free

Stop the bloodshed, Stop the bloodshed

Free to learn about the world
They will someday be a part
Instead a child is dying
From a bullet through the heart

Stop the bloodshed, Stop the bloodshed
Put the guns down, stop storming around
Stop killing each other, stop killing our town
We need each other or don't you care
Don't you hear me crying - is there someone in there?
Stop the bloodshed, Stop the bloodshed

Innocent victims
Losing their lives
Communities shut down,
Nothing survives

Homeowners scared
To leave their homes
Because another bullet
Namelessly roams

Stop the bloodshed, Stop the bloodshed

Police are lost
As to what to do
Looking for killers
And they haven't a clue

AK-47's
And high-tech guns
Got everybody hiding
Makes everybody run

Shooters in school hallways
Like a walking land mine
College campuses
Imitating Columbine

I'm not making jokes
I don't take this light
But we need to stop the bloodshed
We need to stand and fight

Fight for our rights
To make the madness cease
We gotta stop the bloodshed,
We gotta stop the bloodshed
Let's make PEACE INCREASE

I don't have the answer
But it's out there, this is true
Someone has the answer
Maybe it is YOU

Stop the bloodshed, Stop the bloodshed
Stop the bloodshed, Stop the bloodshed
Stop the bloodshed, Stop the bloodshed
Stop the bloodshed, Stop the bloodshed
