Spinach

Work the soil and plant the seed,
Two rows only that's all you need,
Hoe and weed or water the ground,
Spinach is healthy its we've found.

Check for maturity but watch each plant,
Tall and vigorous it is I'll grant,
Green and clean no in sects or such,
Only the wind to blow it about much.

Its now ready but twisted left and right,
Roots are loosened I see this by sight,
Yet its stable and bounces right back,
Clinging to soil now wet and black.

Gathered for tea and prepared by hand,
Washed and cleaned for a meal, planned,
Cooked to perfection lovely the taste,

Added to meals there is no waste.
