Single Black Rose

He smiled as he took his last breath
Because he knew he couldn't be defeated
Even by death
And so he repeated-Slowly to himself
It is finished it is done
And even though he'd achieved no wealth
He felt that he was finally done
Then it happend so fast he couldn't speak
And in the room he finally felt peace
There was a single black rose
Left in a vase
It represents every death that's taken place
And so left alone with that single rose
Upon the table there was his prose
His single mark left on the earth
In hopes he wouldn't be forgotten
A single black rose lies in your vase
In hope that someone remembers your face
A single black rose left in a vase
Will you remember someone's face?
