Signs of the Times

Ronald Bunch 1982 (Grand Rapids)

I am born again of the spirit. Hooray!
I believe Jesus is real and I accepted
Him as my lord and my savior, then
I received the Holy Spirit.

As on a stained glass window, love
Shined through as light. Purple, orange,
Red, green and blue.

I listen to my heart and I feel the ecstatic
Joy of knowing that my soul is safe,
That I know I'm a winner no matter where
My life may take a turn.

No matter what stop light I reach with
lights glaring. Whether it's yellow, I will look
out yonder and slow down to be cautious of sinning
And look out for those lost souls in need.

Whether it's red, I will stop immediately and
Flee from evil. I will not tread by without
Helping someone in need. I will learn to yield to
The righteous stop signs of the times.

Whether it's green, I will drive ahead into
the gates of heaven where it's sin-free. I will go in the glory
Of God wearing the belt of truth, the breast plate of
Righteousness, my feet fitted with the readiness that comes
From the gospel of peace and the shield of faith with
The helmet of salvation carrying the sword of the spirit,
Which is the word of God.
