Sifting Sand

I see another woman in my life,
Sifting through my fingers like sand.
Can I help her? Or will I push her away?
I'm not a savior, but I would give anything to let her stay.
I see myself helpless in her eyes, like a giant in a foreign land.
Strong, but scared, not knowing where to turn.
How do I touch her soul?
How do I heal my heart?
It scares me that I would lay my life down for someone,
In exchange for just a smile and a loving touch.
Wherever she may go and whenever I see her again…
My hands are always here to hold the sifting sand.
