Seen It All Before

Sandra Meadows

Pretended love trying to deceive you.
Some wore diamonds while others wore tennis shoes.
Pretending all is far in love and war.
How come you always carry the scar.
Tulips and rose bushes.
Watch the thorns and thistles.
Better yet, beware of those who whistle.
